I’ve shared many times that I am impressed with the ability of some people to tell stories well. That’s especially true in the field of music.
In today’s example I’d like to share a song by Blake Shelton called “Austin.”
Because it’s a music video there are two different sets of storytellers. The first set of storytellers created and performed the song. The second group created the video.
I’ve got a fun exercise for you. First, listen to the song without watching the video. What do you “see” in your mind when you only hear? Then watch the music video. Are the images the same or different?
I think it’s difficult to create a good music video because a song creates images in your mind that will probably be different than what you see on the screen.
Which do you prefer?
