As we head into the Christmas season, I thought it might be fun to focus on musical storytellers who’ve told us about Jesus, the One Christmas is all about. For this episode of Musical Monday, we’ll look at the children’s song, “Jesus Loves Me.”
The words to “Jesus Love Me” first appeared in a novel as a poem spoken to a dying child. The poem was written by Anna Bartlett Warner. The novel was written by her sister, Susan Warner. The novel was written in 1860. Just two years later, William Batchelder Bradbury put the words to music.
In the century and a half since that story was first told, it has been sung by millions of people around the world.
