Is a Goodreads Giveaway Effective?

Beats me.

I’ve run two Goodreads Giveaway ads for my novel, JAIDEE.

The first giveaway ran for a couple of weeks in June:  334 people entered the contest.

The second giveaway just finished and ran most of July:   710 people entered.

In each case, I sent off a paperback copy of JAIDEE to the winner.

Did I get any increase in sales?  Not that I can tell but then my stats don’t show if a sale resulted from a giveaway.  A number of people did add JAIDEE to their “to-read” list on Goodreads.

So, will I do this again?

It exposes the book to new people and hopefully some of those people will become readers of my books in the future.

Don’t click on the link below (the contest is over) but I included it so you can see the type of exposure people saw concerning the giveaway.

Maybe in the future people will remember having seen your name and be more inclined to buy a book. Fingers crossed!
