Writing a novel is a major undertaking. Hundreds of pages. Close to one hundred thousand words.

Just keeping track of the characters and plot points, let alone the myriad of tiny details, not to mention little things like revisions and moving chapters and scenes is overwhelming.

My program of choice for writing a novel is yWriter. Not only does it help you stay focused on the writing, it also keeps EVERYTHING readily available as you write. And it keeps track of your daily output.

It’s free software and I would encourage any novelist to consider using it.
